Basis of the edition

The present edition is based on the photographs available at the Mainzer Photoarchiv of the Hethitologie Portal Mainz, as well as the available hand-copies and relevant secondary literature up to 2019. When the original manuscripts have been collated, this is noted in the commentary.

Commentary

This fragment treats the cult of the “Queens” of Ḫišurla, a town which is located in the Hittite heartland between Taḫurpa and Katapa (Kryszeń 2016: 223), and of Ištuḫila. In rev. 8′ the Storm god of Ḫišula(-) is mentioned, a town unattested elsewhere. The quite detailed descriptions of festivals present interesting variants in the formulation in respect to the standard wording.

Palaeography and orthography: Note the peculiar spelling zé-an (i 10′).
